Manoucher Yektai

Manoucher Yektai (born December 22, 1922 in Tehran, Iran) belongs to the New York School Abstract Expressionist artists.

Biography

He dropped out of Tehran University, Fine Arts Faculty, without obtaining degree. He studied 1945 and 1947 with Amédée Ozenfant in Paris, France and later in New York City. also He studied from 1946 to 1947 at the École des Beaux-Arts and at the Atelier of André Lhote, Paris, France. In 1947 and 1948 he studied at the Art Students League of New York with Robert Hale in New York City.

In 1959 he became a US citizen.

Selected solo exhibitions

He has many works in American & European collections and museums, especially in the Museum of Modern art of New York, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, SFMOMA and in numerous private collections such as the Poindexter collection.
